
About the Author
Palo Alto writer Robert Eugene Rubino is a San Francisco State University graduate and a retired newspaper copy editor and sports columnist who was 70 when his first published poem appeared four years ago. Since then, he has published prose and poetry in
various print and online literary journals.
Humming Word Press has published his first book, “Aficionado,” a collection of prose and poetry inspired by cinema, sports, and jazz. In addition, he has two poetry collections due out later this year: “Douglas Knocks Out Tyson” (UnCollected Press) and “Vanity Unfair and Other Poems” (Cathexis Northwest
Press).
Robert was an in-person regular at Bay Area open-mic venues before the pandemic and has continued to participate through Zoom in recent years.
